EEC certification for a Xiaomi tablet, the new Mi Pad is coming!

Now I really have to write that Xiaomi CEO promised that this year will see the return of Xiaomi's tablet, the new Mi Pad. He announced this at a live conference and since then there have been a lot of rumours, speculations and fan designs. Now finally something concrete has emerged!

It's not sure if the new Mi Pad will have a number, so it might not be called the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. But for the sake of simplicity, I'll refer to it as such in the following, and we'll see.

The Mi Pad 5, is rumoured not to be coming alone. It may come with a small and large display, which means an 11″ diameter. Let's just say it's brutally big compared to the Mi Pad 2 tablet I'm currently using. Then it will house a hefty battery, rumoured to be 8,520 mAh. The system core will be either the latest 7 series Qualcomm and/or MediaTek, but it's unclear from that whether it's the 1000 or 700 series.

This morning on "Eurasian Economic Commission", or Eurasian Economic Commission for Europe - abbreviated to "EEC" in English - has published Xiaomi's certificate. In which a tablet is marked. And the model number is 21051182G, which so far matches the Mi Pad 5 rumours. So the promise is coming true, as the boss said it would. The only question is when? We'll find out next month...
