Xiaomi has announced that today or in the next few days all devices will receive the CHINA MIUI9 stable update, these include the Mi3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3, etc. Magic day is today, 27th of 27 devices... or 28th, but later this year.

In fact, the MIUI9 update strategy is different from MIUI8. On 26 July, Xiaomi officially released MIUI9. The next day, it started working on its BETA version, which was tested on a selected model. The MIUI team finished development of the final version on 28 September and announced that it will update up to 50 models, including the Mi 2 and Mi 2S.

However, there were some problems with the final version of MIUI9. The stable version was only launched on 31 October. Currently, 27 models are receiving (or have already received) the MIU9 stable update, which simply means that the other 23 models will receive it soon.
According to the manufacturer, almost all Xiaomi phones launched since 2014 will be updated to MIUI9. From now on, the following models will also be supported with MIUI9 stable: Mi Note 3, Mi 5X, Redmi 4X, Redmi Note 5A basic/prime, Mi5, Mi5c, Mi Note 2, Mi5s, Mi MIX, Mi5s Plus, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm, Mi MIX 2, Mi Note prime, Mi4S, Mi4c, Mi Max base, Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 4 prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3 SE, Mi Pad 2, Mi3 Unicom / Telecom, Mi4 Mobile / Unicom / Telecom 3G, Mi4 Telecom 4G
There is also another list, which only includes the new supported devices: Mi MIX 2, Mi Note 3, Mi 6, Mi Max 2, Mi 5X, Mi 5, Mi 5C, Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5S, Mi 5S Plus, Mi Note, Mi 4S, Mi 4C, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3, Mi Max, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 2. The corresponding official Chinese entry only refers to the 27th. Big trouble in China...
On the other hand, we are Global stable I'm more interested in the update, but now you're going to curse me. According to the latest, but unofficial announcement, Global stable updates have been postponed to 15 January 2018. There is no explanation for this, other than Android 8 tests and improvements. You can never please everyone and the MIUI development team has overcommitted itself to release the MIUI9 global stable update for the remaining 23 phones this year. Until the official announcement, we're still treating it as a rumour, although we've been reading this on the UK forum...
