Damascus steel pattern on the back of the Redmi K40

We already know everything about the Redmi K40 series, design, camera, even the prices have been leaked, if they are true... But this morning we also learned about the new back cover design of the phone, which imitates the Damascus steel pattern.

Damascus steel has a very distinctive pattern. This is the name given to the very hard and flexible metal from the Syrian city of Damascus, which is made by forging steel of different hardnesses, or steel and iron plates or bars. Blades made of such steel, under the corrosive action of a weak acid, produce a variety of shades on the surface, the harder metal, less attacked by the acid, remaining darker, while the softer metal, more attacked, becomes lighter. Depending on the position of the plates or bars, the Damascus steel becomes either rigid or cloudy, with a curved line.

The Redmi K40 phone will have a back with this pattern, but this is just one of the new colours and patterns, with more new design elements to come. For those who are even a little bit into knives and swords, it will be very close to their hearts, although it might appeal to laymen too, only time will tell.
