Some Xiaomi devices running MIUI have been bootlooped in India

Sometimes we encounter software bugs, sometimes less so, and sometimes they can be a real headache to fix.

Several MIUI users in India have reported that devices running the MIUI 12.05 Global rom are strangely throwing a "find device closed unexpectedly" error message and then booting into a bootloop, meaning that the device will try to power on again and again but fail.

The simplest "solution" is a factory reset, which unfortunately results in data loss.

As it turned out, the devices had one thing in common: the Airtel Thanks app was on all of them.

The error can be avoided without losing data: the app can be deleted by issuing the next adb command, so the error is removed.

pm uninstall -k -user 0 com.myairtelapp

Airtel and Xiaomi are working to fix the issue, so hopefully this will be resolved in the next update of the app.
