The turbado.hu online store offers a lot of popular stuff at very low prices, phones, tablets, consoles and much more. But now it's just a cold place to shop, it's closed all over Europe.
It was all well and good, I mean from the point of view of the "customer" who wandered in, nice graphics, big words, promises and not to mention good prices. But then why have they disappeared from the web? The answer is telespiegel.de after the news was published on the huaweiblog.hu we read on page.
The business catch
The company was very promising in terms of offer and price, but as it turned out - which we didn't even know - no one in the world could buy anything on the website, literally, but "only" rented the products.
With our innovative business model, we offer our customers more convenient options than other players in the market. Whether you want to rent or buy from us, the process is the same: you order the product, we deliver it free of charge, and you can use it as your own for as long as you like.
"Whether" is a magic word, which could mean that you had a choice. You didn't. "Turbado clearly sought to mislead customers about the nature of the contract" - stresses Jana Brockfeld, legal adviser to the vzbv. In their online shops, the companies made no effort to draw the attention of their "customers" to the fact that they were not paying a consumer price for the product in question, but a rental price, which was confirmed by the complaints received by the inspectorates. As a legal consequence, none of their web shops are currently operational, and the Hungarian and Slovakian sites have not even posted the basic text of their Western counterparts.
The Slovak company operating the Turbado network was condemned by the court in August, which read the full statement here. Turbado has completely withdrawn from the sales market, you can no longer rent/buy from them on any of their websites. The Hungarian website is completely empty, with zero content and no information for visitors. Their Facebook page is also very quiet, no one answers the questions of angry renters.
So, in the current situation, don't try to contact them either with warranty problems, returns, refunds, because they are not available either by phone or email. All customers... I mean renters, please be patient, we hope that at least the problems of those who need it will be solved and they will not have to pay the price of having their faulty appliance repaired or a new one within the warranty period.
In a word, I would ask everyone to consider carefully who they are paying the sometimes one salary amount to the next time they make a purchase!
