Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have been at each other's throats for years, and now Elon Musk has had a tough word for the former Amazon boss.

"More effort should be put into achieving orbit than into lawsuits. You can't sue your way to the moon, no matter how good your lawyers are."said Elon Musk at the Code conference in California.

The story comes after Jeff Bezos' space company, Blue Origin, sued NASA in August after it was awarded the contract to build the Artemis lander, not him, but Elon Musk was commissioned to. SpaceX won the $2.9 billion contract back in April, but the deal has since been suspended after two companies, the aforementioned Blue Origin and defence contractor Dynetics, condemned SpaceX's selection.

Bezos considered the selection process to be illegal because the original plan was for SpaceX, Blue Origin and Dynetics to compete for two different contracts, but due to funding constraints, the space agency ended up awarding only one contract, which was won by Elon Musk's company SpaceX. The Artemis programme is a US space programme that aims to put another man on the moon in 2024.

At the conference, Musk also noted that overall, he thinks it's a good thing that Bezos and Richard Branson (the other space billionaire) are pouring money into understanding the universe. This summer, Branson and Bezos both went into space nine days apart.
