Xiaomi fans have long been waiting for a sequel to the Mi Pad series, which has been rumoured since the beginning of the year. The new models were recently unveiled in China and this afternoon the new tablet was unveiled to the world.

In terms of specs, the Xiaomi Pad 5 features a large 11-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 275 PPI and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The panel also features hardware blue light filtering and true color support.

For a premium sound and video experience, the Pad 5 supports Dolby Atmos technology and has four built-in speakers.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with a Snapdragon 860 processor and 6GB of RAM, with a choice of 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

There's a single 13-megapixel camera on the back, and an 8-megapixel one on the front that supports face-based resolution.

To ensure long battery life, the tablet is equipped with an 8720mAh battery, capable of 33 watts of fast charging.

The system is Android 11, running the MIUI For Pad tablet-optimised interface.
