On 1 November 2016, MiJia launched the Mi Air Purifier Pro in China, which is as successful as its predecessors. In China and India, these devices are becoming increasingly popular because of the high levels of air pollution in the cities. We have also previously introduced a car version with a sensor that you can take with you to check air quality on your walk or on the way to work.
Xiaomi announced a few days ago the new version of its successful Mi Air Purifier, the Mi Air Purifier 2S air purifier, an update of the Mi Air Purifier 2 released last year. The new version is no better than last year's Mi Air Purifier Pro, but it inherits several of its features.
The new Mi Air Purifier 2S continues the design of its predecessor, with the addition of the OLED display of the Pro version. The OLED display shows the PM value (the amount of particulate matter in the atmosphere with a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers, which is about 3% the diameter of a human hair; PM2.5 concentration), temperature and humidity. It transmits the measured values via WiFi connection and can indicate changes in air quality. Its laser sensor can accurately detect particles as small as 0.3 μm.
The Xiaomi Air Purifier 2S also has a built-in light sensor that automatically detects changes in ambient light to automatically adjust the screen brightness accordingly.
This ensures that you will not be disturbed at night, especially while sleeping. Capacity of the device 310 m³/h can produce clean air. This corresponds to a 21-32 m2-room. This is significantly lower than the second generation Mi Purifier 2 and Mi Purifier Pro. For accuracy, the Mi Air Purifier 2 is 406 m3/h CADR, which is 48 square metres, while the Pro version has a CADR of 500 m3/h CADR and 60 square metres.
With the Mi Home app, you can check the air quality in your home at any time from your phone. 
The 2S air purifier also includes a more sophisticated three-layer filter that can pick up particles such as allergens, animal dander, formaldehyde, dust, pollen and cigarette smoke. The new product is also capable of RFID smart filter identification, simplifying use and replacement.
The price of the new air purifier (2s) is 899 yuan ($135).
