It's almost exactly what has been rumoured that the Redmi Y3, which will be released in India, will be a rebranded Redmi 7 phone. It almost worked, the Redmi Y3 became a revamped Redmi 7.

Just for comparison, I'll sneak in the Redmi 7's spec sheet too, as they were announced at the same time today.

So what has changed? Price, colour and the previously advertised 32 MP front camera. The Redmi Y3 is the same as the Redmi 7 in everything else!

  •  15.9cm (6.26) HD+ waterdrop notch display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, eight-core Kryo processor
  • Aura Prism design
  • 12 MP + 2 MP AI dual rear camera
  • 32 MP front-facing camera
  • 4000 mAh battery
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass
  • Splash standing, P2i protection
  • 2+1 SIM and MicroSD card up to 512GB
  • B20 / 800 MHz
  • Colours: elegant blue, important black and striking burgundy

Prices have gone up a bit compared to the Redmi 7:

  • Redmi Y3 3/32GB - 9.999 RS ~ 41.000 Ft
  • Redmi Y3 4/64GB - 11.999 RS ~ 49.200 Ft

The front-facing camera on the Redmi Y3, the selfie camera, is not a plain 32 MP sensor, which is special enough in itself, but the lenses in front of it also help a lot in taking clear pictures. The ultra-wide 80° FOV lens lets you get all your friends in the shot without the need for a selfie stick. And the large 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel ensures clear images, even in low light. But it's all helped by the on-screen flash, whose colour temperature you can adjust yourself, and AI Beautify 4.0 lets you look your best by correcting your face. Other features include AI Portrait mode, palm exposure, HDR, 4-in-1 remosaic, selfie timer, face detection, EIS.
