Today, everything is smart, and kitchen products and small appliances are no exception.

There is a clear trend for electronics companies to add smart features to a myriad of products. Some of these are a natural progression, such as vacuum cleaners, security cameras or even televisions.

It is also a fact that there are sectors where the emergence of intelligent services may at first sight seem a bit far-fetched. For example, shoes, air purifiers or even kettles group.

However, when you try out one of these tools, you often realise that it can make sense to make things up.

In this article, we will look at the latter family in a little more detail. In other words, what makes a water boiler smart in the first place, how to imagine it, and what the benefits of integrating such technologies are.

Xiaomi is one of the big global companies that is leading the way in objectification. It should come as no surprise that the company's range includes a smart kettle called the Mi Smart Kettle Pro.

How it works

Such models principle is the same as that of their traditional counterparts. That is, they heat the water using electricity, and in the case of Xiaomi's product, the parts that come into direct contact with the water, such as the inner surface, the inside of the lid and the temperature sensor, are all made of high-quality 304 stainless steel, in accordance with POSCO GB4806. This material is also widely used in the food and medical industry due to its resistance to rust, scale, odour and odourlessness. And one of its most important properties is that it remains very easy to clean. The 1800 watt high energy focusing heating ring in the base of this product heats the water evenly and very quickly from the bottom up. It can bring the water to a full boil in exactly five minutes.

Like these devices, the Xiaomi Mi Smart Kettle Pro also has an integrated Bluetooth adapter. This enables it to connect wirelessly to smartphones or tablets. The app running on these devices allows you to control them remotely. For example, the Chinese manufacturer's device allows you to set the temperature of the water with absolute precision, and even command it to keep the liquid warm. And, of course, you can also monitor the exact temperature of the water in the tank.

Why is it good?

It is legitimate to ask why this is so good. Well, the answer is simple and partly self-evident. On the one hand, it is very convenient to be able to switch on the kettle with a single touch, even from a remote part of the house or apartment, for example from the other room, without having to travel to the kitchen.

You can even set your phone to turn on when you wake up, so that when you rush to the kitchen, it's just a moment before your morning tea is ready.

Perhaps more importantly, there are some drinks for which it is particularly important that the temperature of the water is just right. The aroma and flavour of black tea is best brought out by hot water. Green tea is best brewed with water at 80℃ according to some sources, others prefer 70℃. If you want to add honey to your drink, you need an even lower temperature, as the nutrients in the honey can be destroyed if the temperature is too high.

Cool design

Some of the smart kettles are already designed to the highest possible quality in terms of design and to satisfy the most discerning tastes. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Kettle, for example, has a white polypropylene casing with a special curved design of the spout that optimises water flow, preventing dripping and splashing. Whether it's a kitchen counter, the corner of a desk or a garden table, it looks good everywhere thanks to its minimalist and sophisticated appearance. And that's no coincidence, as a fundamental design consideration was to put not just a reliable kettle on the table, but a machine that could easily become an integral part of users' everyday lives.
