One of the big stars of today's show, among many others, was the 10th release of Xiaomi's MIUI system for phones. Not much was revealed at the launch, but we'll try to gather what we can about it.

Today's presentation was only about the Chinese beta rum, so this article will also be about that, there is no information or news about the Global version, when it will be released and what these features will be. Please everyone, treat it as such!

The new phones come with an 18:9 aspect ratio display and MIUI 9 is just a longer display interface than on the other phones. MIUI 10 is ready for the next generation of phones and with a longer display-optimised interface, it will be more comfortable and fun to use.

The task manager in MIUI 10 has been completely redesigned, from a horizontal layout to a vertical two-bar application list, as the current displays are big enough to fit the small windows of applications. Let's hope that the memory clear button is widened for display, because knowing myself, the application next to it will always open...

Gesture controls, adapted to the increased surface area, make better use of the phone's screen in a standing position than before.

MIUI 10 - Designed for full screen

In system interface styles, such as the notification bar, MIUI 10 breaks the boundaries of each functional area, so the interface style is more immersive and more in line with a full-screen visual experience.

XiaoAI will be your best friend in your everyday life, whatever you need, just ask and they'll be happy to help. Whether it's an event, an event, counting, banking, it can help you with everything.

Together with its partners, Xiaomi has developed a network of voice-based services that can help MIUI users in all aspects of life.

Just tell us where you want to go and your favourite phone will take you there safely, so you don't have to bother. What's more, you don't even need to use your phone on the road, with hands-free control you can access and monitor everything you need to drive.

MIUI 10 Driving Assistant can prevent inattention and trouble.

You can access anything by voice command:

  • Go to the zoo
  • Call my mother-in-law
  • Reply Chat

Xiaomi can produce a beautiful bkoeh effect with its dual rear cameras, but MIUI 10 can do it with a single camera, whether it's in the back or the front.

In portrait mode, AI defines the outline of the person and blurs the rest of the image.

How fast will MIUI 10 be? MIUI 10 beats even the lightning-fast MIUI 9!

The speed of app launches was measured by an independent agency and found to be 34n times faster than competing MIUI 10 devices.

MIUI 10 learns and predicts user behaviour, pre-installs the app via AI and allows the next app to be launched immediately.

Usability is also an important criterion for the user experience. In terms of system usage, MIUI 10 offers lower latency and an even simpler user experience.

With just a tap, the app opens instantly.

As the Internet of Things approaches, MIUI 10 goes even further, taking the smart home experience to a whole new level. MIUI 10 detects the device via WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and takes care of its correct operation in advance.

Thanks to MIUI 10's open platform, more and more manufacturers are joining in to make sure all their devices work perfectly.

The sound of a mobile phone is a neglected thing in the long term. I don't know, how long has it been since you heard a ringtone? According to statistics, there are 236 system notifications per person per day, which to some extent disrupts the user experience. The first thing MIUI 10 does is to disrupt the user less often. Through notification filtering, continuous notification aggregation and interface sound simplification, system notifications have been reduced by about 76%.

MIUI 10 notification sounds are inspired by natural sounds that never stop and never change. No two leaves or water drops are the same in the world, and MIUI 10 always uses a different notification sound, for example:

Forest

Beach

For the system ringtone, MIUI 10 uses a wide variety of natural objects such as "water", "wood" and "sand" as system sounds. At the same time, it selects all kinds of representative natural white sounds and incorporates them into e.g. the clock to give each user a unique sound.

We've already written about the MIUI 10 release schedule and supported devices, which you can read here. We'll be showing you more of MIUI 10 live as soon as beta testing starts, so you can get first-hand insights into the new system.

See you soon...
