When we talk about active users, we should not just think about phones, but all online devices that store any data in Xiaomi's cloud service. Phones, smart home devices, wearable smart devices, vehicles, etc. can all be found individually by their owners, but someone has a lot, so we are talking about the number of users and not the number of devices.

Zhou Guangping, Chief Financial Officer of Xiaomi, reported in an interview about the significant increase in the number of users connecting to the Xiaomi cloud. In the first quarter of 2019, the company's services were used by 31.8% more people than in the previous period. At the same time, online revenues have also increased significantly, although advertising in MIUI and Xiaomi's apps has become less or more relevant and less distracting. This will be continually refined until there may be no advertising, although the 5% benefit will not go far...

In May, Xiaomi released its first financial report after launching its "mobile + AIoT" dual strategy. At the time, the financial report showed that Xiaomi Group's total revenue was 43.8 billion Yuan ($6.37 billion), up 27.21T$3.3T year-on-year. Adjusted profit was 2.1 billion yuan (0.31 billion U.S. dollars), up 22.41T$3.3 billion year-on-year. During the accounting period, the number of IoT devices connected to Xiaomi's IoT platform reached 171 million units (excluding smartphones and laptops), an increase of 70% year-on-year.
