What do you think is the maximum input power today in current charging technology? 40W or 55W? OnePlus (and its parent company OPPO) has been at the forefront of fast charging for years, and has no regrets about the Fast Charge (formerly known as Dash Charge) to include a charging head with your smartphones. The OPPO VOOC standard solution offers the fastest refill on the market, requiring a special adapter, a matching cable and phone support.
More recently, OPPO, VIVO and other smartphone manufacturers have achieved further significant acceleration, which have been demonstrated.
Xiaomi seems to have invented something better. Tonight, Xiaomi announced the development of a Super Charge Turbo technology capable of 100W of power. As the manufacturer claims, a 4000mAh battery can be fully charged in 17 minutes.

Lin Bin today shared a video on his Weibo channel showing how a Xiaomi phone fully recharges in 17 minutes. In the video, the Xiaomi phone is compared to an OPPO device. As the latter offers one of the fastest charging technologies on the market, it turns out that the Xiaomi Super Charge Turbo charging is twice as fast as OPPO's technology.

The test video shows that the input power at the start of charging is close to 100W, about 18.1V/4.6A after 20%, about 70W after 50%, and about 55W after 80%. As a result, the Xiaomi phone reaches a power of 100% in 17 minutes. The smartphone compared is the OPPO R17 Pro, which is the fastest commercially available charging smartphone on the global market today.
The R17 Pro supports 50W fast charging, reaching "only" 65% (3700mAh) in 17 minutes.
For Xiaomi, the Mi 9 is currently at 27W, while it is the only one to reach 20W in wireless charging.

We can expect to learn more about the new development at a future conference, but before that, Xiaomi New Media's chief engineer Zou Shifu revealed that "for safety and efficiency, the charger will be very large. Can you accept it? PS: The price will also be higher."

Although the Xiaomi charging head supporting Super Charge Turbo technology will grow in size physically and in weight, it may be worth getting for home use if it is accompanied by a device that can take advantage of this super-fast charging. From here on, it won't matter how big the battery is on the Mi 10 or Mi MIX 4, for example, if you can charge it fully in a lunch.
