Wireless mobile phone charging is a privilege only for the upper class, not yet available to the middle and lower classes, although the technology is not devilishly expensive. Xiaomi and of course competing manufacturers are constantly developing it, but today the company announced its first brutal charging technology.

Xiaomi introduced wireless charging in the Mix 2S phone, which was quite a big deal at the time, but it could only draw 7.5 W of power, so it was pretty low for a cabled phone, but at least it kept the phone alive when you were doing GPS navigation. After that, the Mix 3 also got it, but with 10 W, followed by the Mi 9 with 20 W, Mi 9 Pro and Mi 10 with 30 W. The big leap came after that, with this year's Mi 10 Ultra now capable of 50 W of power, which is already pretty damn big, but today, they announced 80 W wireless charging technology.

The new superpower can half charge a 4,000 mAh battery in 8 minutes, but it doesn't take much longer to fully charge it to 100 % in exactly 19 minutes! Still, that's a lot compared to some models that can't even do that with a cord. For comparison, the iPhone 12, 2020 can only manage 15W, and the Huawei P40 Pro+ 40W.
