The release of the Xiaomi 12 is no longer in doubt, confirmed by Xiaomi CEO also the head of Xiaomi. It's no longer rumoured that it will carry Qualcomm's next-generation chipset, and in fact it will debut the world's first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
The new Qualcomm mobile platform brings a lot of new features. Starting with the 4 nm manufacturing technology, through to the 20% performance boost. The main new features are:

- Ultra-wide engine
- 12 MP continuous shooting up to 240 fps
- Snapdragon voice
- 20% faster CPU performance
- More energy efficient CPU with 30%
- 30% GPU performance improvement
- 25% GPU-related energy savings
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will be a big step forward for the mobile industry, if there is enough capacity to produce enough units. The Xiaomi 12 is theoretically will be launched in China on 16 December, but this is not yet confirmed. We'll be back with more details as soon as we have any news!
