There's more than one indication that Redmi is not idle when it comes to flagship phones. Come the end of the year, Xiaomi will unveil the Xiaomi 14 series. Redmi's answer will be the K70 series, of which the Pro version will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
The Redmi K70 Pro has already been leaked by several Chinese bloggers, so far the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is the only sure thing, but this morning we got some more info about the camera.
A short one-line Weibo post by Chinese blogger DigitalChatStation this morning revealed a lot about the phone. The SM8650 itself features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 50 MP main camera and a telephoto lens with 3.2x optical ZOOM. Sounds pretty good.
Other sources such as "体验more" has also published the name, code name and model number of the complete series. As confirmation, he cited source images from xiaomiui, which corroborated the information. Members of the K70 series:
- Redmi K70 - vermeer - 2311DRK48C
- Redmi K70E - ingres - 23117RK66C
- Redmi K70 Pro - manet - 23113RKC6C
The code names were given to famous painters such as Édouard Manet, Johannes Vermeer, Jean Ochest Dominique Ingres. Do any of these sound familiar? I mean, not the names of the artists, but the code names. Yes yes, "ingres" is already in use, it's the code name for the POCO F4 GT! Now either they don't know about it or the info is FAKE.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 comes in a 1+3+2+2 configuration, probably with one Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A720 cores split into two clusters, and two Cortex-A520 cores for efficiency. The high-power Cortex-X4 core is said to be clocked at 3.18 GHz in its current form, up from the previous engineering test frequency of 3.4 GHz. Nevertheless, there are also rumours of a Cortex-X4 core of up to 3.7 GHz.
