MIUI 12 coming soon to the Redmi 8A

The entry-level Redmi 8A, released in autumn 2019 with Android 9, will also soon get MIUI 12.

The MIUI 12 update has reached a new stage: the Redmi 8A will soon receive it, based on Android 10. So there is no major version update, but MIUI 12 will be available on this phone in a few weeks.

Android 11 is not expected, but MIUI 13 might be

This will be the first of the MIUI updates, so it's possible that you'll get a second one, but because of the entry-level category, you probably won't get Android 11 officially. Of course, as always, a custom ROM could be an absolutely fair option.
