The Chinese gossip train has started. MIUI 13 is being developed in the background, but there is no official word on its release yet. But rumours have started and not everyone might be happy about it.

The Weibo-n read a lot of things, sometimes there are some reality content, but a lot of nonsense also goes to the Chinese nest, like us. Some leakers believe that MIUI 13 will only come out to those, which are no more than 2 years old. So from 2019 onwards, all phones will get it, anything that came out before then will not.

It's just a rumour, so don't take it as cash!

This means that phones released in 2018 will no longer get the new MIUI, although it doesn't necessarily mean they won't get an Android security update. These include:

  • Xiaomi Mi 8 / Lite / EE / SE
  • Xiaomi Mi 6X
  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
  • Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 / Plus
  • Redmi 6 / A / Pro
  • Redmi Note 6 / Pro
  • Pocophone F1
  • tr.

But that doesn't mean that other phones released in 2019 or later will get it, although that would be a big selfie on Xiaomi's part. With the first alpha version leaking out soon anyway, followed by a beta test, they should announce the new MIUI before the end of June. We'll be on the lookout for more info as soon as it comes!
