MIUI 13 Global finally launched with the Redmi Note 11 series! Although those who are already on MIUI 12.5 will find much less new compared to MIUI 12 or older. There aren't so many spectacular changes now either, what you see is just new stuff, but again, the main thing is under the hood!!!
Sidebar (Sidebar)
Introducing the Sidebar - a new feature that gives you access to your favourite apps with a single swipe. It's perfect for multitaskers who want an easier way to bring up multiple apps at once, or switch between them quickly. Users can customise the feature with up to 10 apps in the sidebar.
Liquid Storage (Liquid Storage)
With MIUI 13, "Liquid Storage" technology was introduced, which reduces the fragmentation of the back-up storage. It actively manages your stored data and improves the defragmentation efficiency by up to 60%!
On traditional devices, because we are constantly writing and overwriting data on our devices, over time the device storage becomes fragmented. After just 36 months, this slows read and write speeds by up to 50%. MIUI 13, however, retains up to 95%, so users can enjoy the new experience for longer and extend the life of the device.
Smart Balance (Intelligent Balance)
MIUI 13 "Smart Balance" automatically finds the right balance between performance and power consumption, so you can get the performance and speed you need on the go. This extends battery life by up to 10% with MIUI 13.
Focused Algorithms
In general, smartphone processors distribute resources relatively evenly between all applications. However, in MIUI 13, "Focused Algorithms" prioritise the active app above all others, delivering more speed and better performance where you need it.
Atomized Memory (Atomized memory)
MIUI 13's new RAM optimisation triggers the closure of inactive background processes and makes room for new apps, improving their smooth operation. This means you can run more apps and enjoy smoother multitasking.
Raising the baseline experience
With MIUI 13, the focus is on the core experience. To provide a seamless and optimised user interface for all users. It focuses on four elements of user experience and optimization features.
MIUI Experience
Overall, there are four big ways to take the MIUI experience to another level: faster storage, faster background performance, faster processing and longer battery life. A customisable sidebar with new features to make the system its own.
Wallpaper design: beauty in time. Art in life.
MIUI X Beauty of Science - Crystals under the microscope. These wallpapers show how substances such as vitamin C and citric acid crystallise. Different concentrations of these substances form stunning crystal patterns, while time-lapse photography with a polarised light microscope reveals breathtaking variety.
Widgets
With the brand new widgets, users can personalise their smartphones with convenient gadgets and notifications on Cards or the home screen. They make it easy to stay up to date with things like notifications, to-do lists, the weather and more. MIUI supports 13 widgets of different sizes. With 2×1, 2×2, 2×3, 4×2 and 4×4 options, users can put more important information in a single widget and place widgets where they might not have been before.
Protective watermark
A protective watermark prevents others from copying your documents. Use a custom pattern on scanned documents and photos to protect them from unauthorised copying.
Important information
- The availability of widgets may vary from market to market. Publication may be delayed.
