To be more precise, the Chinese MIUI 12 beta will be launched in China on 27 April! Just so laymen don't expect a globally stable MIUI 12 tomorrow morning... (that will be in September)

In addition, MIUI 12 will be introduced on a new phone, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G, or Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G in global terms.

But what can we expect from MIUI 12? First and foremost, Dark Mode 2.0! True, MIUI 11 has already started this new trend, which will save you a significant amount of battery life if you have an AMOLED display, as the pixel illumination behind the black colour is turned off, so the display consumption is significantly reduced.

The global coverage extends to 42 system applications in depth, 20 mainstream applications have been deeply customized in MIUI, and many third-party applications already support nonlinear inversion algorithms. The powerful nonlinear inversion Color algorithm accurately identifies interface elements and dynamically inverts colors for each interface object. The inverse color algorithm is based on Lab, HSV color space, and the inverse color performance is thus wider and more natural.

Dark mode 2.0 automatically adjusts the contrast to the current lighting conditions. In daylight or bright lamp light, the increased contrast and colour temperature make for perfect visibility, but in low light, by reducing brightness and recalibrating colours, it improves visibility and doesn't burn your eyes.

In addition, MIUI 11's Reddot award-winning dynamic font has also been enhanced, with changes to brightness and colour, as well as font thickness, for better readability.

But it's not just the font colours that change, every pixel is resampled and recalibrated for perfect visibility.

In addition to the dark mode, MIUI 12 also includes some less visible improvements. System animations will be improved to further enhance the experience of using MIUI. The speed of animations is determined by Cubic-Bezier curves, which are adapted to the screen refresh to ensure perfect, lag-free movement.

The redesign of the animations was also necessary because of the new screen technology, and MIUI 12 will also allow you to adjust the frequency of screen refreshes, not in all phones of course, but only in those that allow it.

The new system will be demonstrated on a new phone, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G, or Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. Thin and colourful, it is a youth edition, with 5G mobile network, 50x zoom optics, and a battery of only 4,160 mAh for its size. But I'm sure more details will be revealed by Monday, which you'll read here.

But many are wondering what phones MIUI 12 will be available on and when. Well, there are always lists of phones circulating, and even a more lively Yuzzer app, but always rely on official announcements and info. The first round of phones to receive the MIUI 12 Chinese beta update are as follows:

  • Xiaomi Mi 8 Series
  • Xiaomi Mi 9 Series
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 series
  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s
  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
  • Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha
  • Xiaomi CC9 series
  • Redmi 7 / 7A
  • Redmi 8 / 8A
  • Redmi Note 7 / Pro
  • Redmi Note 8 / Pro
  • Redmi K20 series
  • Redmi K30 series

Once again I highlight! CHINESE BETA UPDATE! So there is no global phone, there is no list, just speculation! But as soon as we know more, we will come with the details!
