We can't necessarily blame the summer for the fact that things catch fire more easily in such hot weather, but there are more minor accidents in summer than in winter. However, most households do not have any fire extinguishers, let alone fire extinguishers. That's why Xiaomi, in partnership with a Chinese manufacturer, has created an emergency fire extinguisher bottle, which is only suitable for extinguishing and suppressing small fires.
It will be available in two types of packaging, a throw bottle and a squirt bottle. The throwing bottle is made of a fragile plastic material which, when thrown into the centre of the fire, disperses the special material inside and prevents the fire from spreading. The other solution is to use a bottle made of a softer material, easily compressible, which can be used to douse the fire and its surroundings, thus preventing it from spreading.
Both bottles contain a very special substance. The extinguishing agent forms a thin film on the burning surface, blocking the oxygen needed for combustion from the fire, and in larger fires, the nitrogen and carbon dioxide produced by the effervescence of the extinguishing agent prevents it from gaining new power.
It can handle fires from a wide range of sources such as solids, liquids (fuel), electrical appliances and cooking oil. The extinguishing agent is nature friendly, contains no poisons or chemicals that could harm animals, plants or humans, is non-toxic and has no irritating odour. The vaccine will keep its expiry date for 3 years, after which it must be replaced.
The price of the Xiaomi emergency fire extinguisher bottle is also promising as an area of application. In China they all total 99 Yuan, that's 4.445 Ft. It is not available at the moment, you can only find it on Xiaomi's Community Funding page. But as we know them, they will be on store shelves soon!
