Arrivals of Xiaomi's latest flagship, the Xiaomi Mi6, continue to arrive to tech blogs around the world. Many only get as far as unboxing and trying it out, some have even run serious tests, but no one has yet had the courage to test its water resistance. Which is understandable, we are not talking about a cheap phone and there is no guarantee, as with all other manufacturers, that it will not get wet. Even if it is claimed to be waterproof by the manufacturer (Sony, Samsung, etc.)

Xiaomi CEO the Mi6 is "splash-proof", which is not as waterproof as the Galaxy S8, but it won't be harmed if you spill coffee, water or juice on it. However, TechTablets didn't just splash it or pour a glass of water on it, no, they threw it straight into a 5 litre jar full of water! They wondered how long the Mi6 would last under water. Then left it in the water for 2 minutes and NOTHING! It didn't get soaked! Visibly... true, you can see some small bubbles in the top right corner of the phone, but it doesn't seem to have done anything bad to the phone. For a few minutes... then the phone died, yes those little bubbles were signs of water ingress, water was dripping nicely under the back cover, but it took minutes to get to the parts and battery. But never mind, it goes into a kilo of rice and pray that it dries out completely in 1-2 days!
