The under-screen selfie camera is nothing new, in fact, several companies have already come out with it, just not in the best quality. After Axon and OPPO, Xiaomi is also introducing its own under-screen camera technology, now the best UDC screen on the market.

About the technology itself I wrote some articles earlier, in which I explained the advantages and disadvantages of the technology. Xiaomi's solution was already of such quality compared to the competition that it could have been released a year ago. But what's good can't go into a Mix phone, only high quality can go here.
The idea is that the part of the screen behind the selfie camera should transmit enough light so that the quality of the image is not affected. Reducing the size of the RGB pixels and turning them off completely when taking the picture is key.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has a much higher quality screen than its competitors, which makes this possible. The tiny hole that covers the camera is almost invisible on the screen and has the best RGB colour rendering.

The best example is the video above, which shows the Mi Mix 4's flexible display. Observe carefully, there is nothing, nothing at all visible in front of the camera, not even a faint smudge. Although this will be confirmed or disproved by the first tests after release. But for now, this is the best UDC screen in the world!
