When Xiaomi launched seven years ago, it sold exclusively online. The money they saved was reinvested in development and helped them keep the price of their devices low. The competition then copied Xiaomi's strategy, which led to a slight decline for the manufacturer. User demand also changed (people wanted to try Xiaomi products before buying), so more and more Mi stores opened in the country. In addition to China, there are now stores in India, Malaysia, the United States and Japan. United Arab Emirates-in Russia and several European countries with Mi Store or Mi Home stores. Physical stores have mushroomed, generating huge interest and sales for Xiaomi. Last year was a record year in terms of both sales and the number of stores opened. The trend is not slowing down this year either, with new Mi stores opening around the country.
We've seen flagship Mi Stores in malls, downtown buildings, or even in a separate building of their own, and now there's another area to get your hands on some Xiomi gadgets.
It was announced today that a new store will open at an airport on 10 March.
The location is the busy Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, more specifically the F4 departure lounge (check-in at the back of E Island) in Terminal T3.
Once checked in, passengers, usually in first class, can spend the rest of their time in the Mi Store.

In addition to the airport store, the company will also open four new stores in Changsha, Jiaozuo, Jinzhou and Yuzhou.

Xiaomi's President Lin Bin said that Xiaomi has become a capital-rich company in recent years, which will allow it to open many physical stores around the world. Xiaomi Mi stores are among the most visited in the world, second only to Apple stores.

Xiaomi announced in 2016 that it would open 1,000 Mi stores in several Chinese cities by 2020. As the company approaches the target, its CEO, Xiaomi CEO recalled that the company opened more than 200 retail stores in 2017. The target was achieved on time and expansion is continuing.
