The MIUI9 fever started last week, with Mi6, Redmi Note 4/4X and Mi 5X phones being publicly released with the new system. Of course, closed beta testing had been going on for weeks before that, and it's no different now, as they've promised a second wave of updates will arrive soon.
Closed beta testing has started for the following 12 phones: the Mi 5, Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5S, Mi 5S Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi Note and Redmi 4X. Those who have been successfully accepted for beta testing in China have already received the first notification in the Update app. Those who still want to participate in MIUI9 testing and donate their phone and time can still apply to become a tester via the MIUI Forum app.
MIUI9 is still in the testing phase, even if the first versions are public, as everyday use reveals problems that the developers couldn't find during the short "office" test. There are still some shortcomings and this will remain the case until the first stable version. Anyone who starts testing is strongly advised to back up the entire system and its data!
Good news for MIUIHU fans, MIUI9 testing of 5 more handsets (Mi5, Mi5s, M5s Plus, Mi4c and Redmi 4X) is about to start and will be available for Hungarian testers soon. The public version will be released together with the release of the Chinese developer rom.
