Xiaomi has once again released a list of phones that are quite well known and popular in our country. Yes, this is again a Chinese phone list, with some overlaps with the domestic line-up. There are quite a few 11 phones in this list, like the Xiaomi 11 and Redmi Note 11.
On Friday, during the usual Chinese developer MIUI release, developers will post on the Chinese forum a log in to, about what's new. This is also where they announce bad news, updates that are no longer available, updates that have been paused, etc. Now we have everything I listed, which is as much to be happy about as it is to be sad about.
Ending aid
The most important point in the announcement is point 2, which shows the names of the phones that will be discontinued on 22 September 2023. These are exactly:
- Xiaomi 11
- Xiaomi 11 Pro
- Xiaomi 11 Ultra
- Redmi K40S
- Redmi Note 11T Pro
- Redmi Note 11T Pro+
The most important of these for us is the Xiaomi 11 series, the Redmi Note 11T hasn't even been released yet, and the Redmi K40S is called the POCO F4. So there are four phones that will no longer be supported here, so no more MIUI updates!
As in this case only the Chinese weekly beta has ended, there will be a stable MIUI coming after that, which will be used by our Indian colleagues to make the GLOBAL and EEA versions. So it won't be neglected here at home this year, I see the discontinuation of the global update as well in Xiaomi's EOS list and will write about it.
Suspension of updates
There is still important information in the post that we should know about. For example, the Chinese developer update has been suspended until 6 October for the following phones:
- Xiaomi 13 Ultra
- Xiaomi 13 Pro
- Xiaomi 13
- Xiaomi MIX Fold 3
- Xiaomi MIX Fold 2
- Redmi K60 Pro
- Redmi K60
These updates have been suspended because the Android 14-based MIUI is being developed. On 13 October, updates will be released again, but not all at once, they will be released continuously.
Android 14 test over
It's also good news that the open testing of MIUI 14 based on Android 14 has been completed and will finally be released in stable updates. The test included two phones, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The stable MIUI 14 update on Android 14 is yet to be released, unfortunately the date has not been disclosed. But it is finally expected, so the globalized version will be released on Android 14, hopefully this year.
