According to leaked reports, actor William Shatner, of the classic Star Trek series, will be taking Jeff Bezos' rocket into space next month.

The TMZ the 90-year-old legendary actor, who plays Captain Kirk, will reportedly take part in the next space voyage organised by Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space company, where he will have the opportunity to visit space in the New Shepard capsule. If successful, Shatner will become the oldest person to go into space.

According to the portal, the journey will be similar to the one the Amazon CEO took in July, so they will climb to an altitude of around 100 kilometres and the trip will take less than 15 minutes.

It's not yet known whether the actor will don the legendary Captain Kirk outfit for the space voyage in October, but if we had to guess, we'd say yes, as it would be a real shame to miss out on this obvious opportunity.
