Slowly, Xiaomi laptops are arriving at the same pace as phones. We've just announced the new Gamer and GTX machines, which started with a pretty hefty price tag, but considering their specs, they're not that expensive anymore. But the mid-range hasn't been taken yet and now that's about to change. From today, the "cheapened" Xiaomi notebook is available!
The new Xiaomi laptop features a 15.6″ display with FHD resolution, powered by an nVidia MX110 brain with 2GB of video memory. The processor is available in a choice of Intel i5 or i7, depending on what you want to use it for. The i5 is seventh generation, while the i7 is the eighth, the latest. System memory is also a matter of choice, with a choice between 4 and 8GB DDR4 2.400MHz. There's not much to choose from, though, with 128GB SSD + 1TB hard drive alongside i5/4GB or i5/8GB and i7/8GB. Memory can be expanded up to 32GB.
True, these are all basic features of an above-average device, the really interesting thing about it is the keyboard. Unlike the previous models, the new notebook has a full numeric keyboard.
The processor and video card are cooled by a dual fan and heat dissipation tube to ensure that performance is not degraded even under heavy use. It's true that there's no shortage of power, but Xiaomi is aiming this at the business and office market. The number of connections is a good indication of this, with gigabit LAN, 1 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0, headphones, three-in-one card reader, HDMI, WiFi 802.11 b/g/ac, BT 4.2, 3W speaker with Dolby Audio support. The operating system is Windows 10 Home Edition.
