Xiaomi has launched the Mi Mix Fold, its first foldable phone. What they perhaps didn't expect was that the available stock sold out in just one minute.
The total revenue of the company was 400 million yuan, or almost 18 and a half billion forints, and with a little maths you can easily calculate that, depending on the hosting, that's between 30 and 40 thousand units in that one minute. This means that roughly 500 units were ordered every second.
The Mi Mix Fold is available in 3 variants in China:
12/256 GB - 10 thousand yuan, ~463 thousand forints
12/512 GB - 11 thousand yuan, ~509 thousand forints
16/512 GB - 13 thousand yuan, ~601 thousand forints
The device is special not only because of the high-end Snapdragon 888, the curved HDR10 AMOLED display, but also because it is the first device to come to market with a liquid camera lens. That's good because, in addition to the 108 MP wide-angle and 13 MP ultra-wide-angle lenses, the third 8 MP lens can act as both a telephoto and macro camera.
