Support for many Xiaomi and Redmi phones has been discontinued again

Month by month, support for "old" phones that no longer receive updates is being withdrawn. No MIUI, no Android. Looking through the list today, there are a lot of phones added, from both Xiaomi and Redmi brands.

The Xiaomi EOS list is constantly growing. It includes Xiaomi and Redmi devices, but POCO has also added a few phones.

EOS product list

“We no longer maintain any software or firmware updates (including security updates) for the products included in the EOS product list below, and may no longer respond to security vulnerability reports for them either.”

Xiaomi list

The Xiaomi list has changed significantly compared to the previous status. Items in the list have also been sorted by name, instead of by end of support. But the following phones have been added to the list:

• Xiaomi Mi CC 9
• Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G
• Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro
• Xiaomi Mi Mix 3

Redmi list

There's been a bigger change at Redmi, with a few more phones added to the list. Exactly these:

• Redmi Note 8T
• Redmi Note 8 (ID, IN, CN, GLOBAL)
• Redmi 8A Dual
• Redmi K30
• Redmi K30 5G
• Redmi K30 5G Speed

POCO list

The POCO has not changed, it still has the same "three" phones:

• POCO F1
• POCO PHONE F1
• POCO X2

The new phones on the Xiaomi and Redmi list are mostly 2019 releases, and Xiaomi thought it was time to suspend software support. Unfortunately, those of you who are still using one of these will no longer receive MIUI and/or Android updates. But you can browse through the custom roms on the XDA forum.

Product Support Policy Overview

We do our best to provide continuous security updates for our smartphones, for Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO brands. Security updates usually include the latest security patches, vulnerability patches and other security improvements. Security updates are generally maintained for at least 2 years after the initial delivery of a device model.

We regularly publish and update the EOS product list below to help you check if your smartphone can receive security updates.

*For some models, we may support security upgrades for 3 years or longer, subject to actual terms and conditions. If a very serious vulnerability is discovered, we can still provide you with the necessary security patches, even if your device is no longer supported.
