The ill-fated fate of the Redmi Note 9 series has caused Xiaomi, the Redmi brand, to lose a lot of customers. The MIUI 13 has also been slow to arrive to users, but now a very good news has arrived! The Redmi Note 9 series is also getting MIUI 14 update!
This great news xiaomiui blogger who dissected the MIUI code and found the tell-tale lines. The Redmi Note 9 series is about to turn 3 years old, which in Xiaomi's eyes is already considered obsolete. It's also evident from the support, which users are really feeling. But they are not bad phones, they are still good for everyday tasks.
So far only the Global version is getting it, so it's not the EEA that matters to us. But there is not a long time between the Global release and the EEA. I wouldn't say that for sure, though, as we've already experienced it with MIUI 13... The blogger says there won't be much difference between the two. Although there's nothing new in the interface for other devices, the default theme of MIUI 14 has been optimized a bit and that's it. Although the new folder view and some icons do throw something at it, but I think it could have been included in MIUI 13 a long time ago.
Redmi Note 9 Series MIUI 14 update
MIUI 14 updates are still in alpha, so neither beta nor Mi Pilot testers have received them. Internal testing is still ongoing and these are the phones that have received it:
- Redmi 9 V14.0.0.1.SJCCNXM, V14.0.0.1.SJCMIXM (lancelot)
- Redmi Note 9 V14.0.0.1.SJOCNXM, V14.0.0.1.SJOMIXM (merlin)
- Redmi Note 9S V14.0.0.1.SJWMIXM (curtana)
- Redmi Note 9 Pro V14.0.0.1.SJZMIXM (happy)
- Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G V14.0.0.3.SJSCNXM (gauguin)
Oops, there's also a cuckoo in the list, the Redmi 9 (lancelot). So for those who still have it, you can hope to get the MIUI 14 update. Although it is now 1 week into Chinese New Year, in India they are working diligently on the Global version. I hope to write to you soon about the EEA version so that users here can also enjoy the benefits of the new system.
