Compared to last year, this year's Redmi Note series update has been a little poor so far. While there are about six variants of the Redmi Note 4, only 2 of this year's Note 5 family have been released so far. The Redmi Note 5A and Redmi Note 5A Prime.
That's why we're excited about the leaked images today, because it's not just a rumoured big brother to the Redmi Note 5A, but something else entirely.
Now that's something! A full screen Remi Note with an 18:9 aspect ratio is something else! Vivo, Oppo and similar Chinese brands have already come out with similar, low budget, large screen, mid-range phones, it's about time Xiaomi entered this market segment.
Looking at the back, the Redmi Note series design remains, but the most striking change is the dual camera. We last saw this in the Redmi Pro, which is quite an interesting departure from the horizontal layout we're used to.
There are only strong rumors about the iron, but most places imagine the processor to be the latest MTK, P25 or P30 and not Snapdragon (black dot). The resolution of the rear cameras also does not follow the dual camera systems, they do not play with the optics, but with the resolution. One is 16 megapixels, while the other is only 5 megapixels, which is just enough for the blurred background of portrait images. Battery should be at least 4000 mAh, I think many people are more concerned with battery life, not that extra 3 mm thickness.
We're getting very ahead of ourselves on prices, though given the low prices for the Redmi series, the base 3/32 will be around 999 Yuan, the 4/32 will be around 1299 Yuan and the 4/64 will be around 1599 Yuan.
