The Redmi 7A in China received what is believed to be its last update, MIUI 12.5, earlier this summer. However, Indian users have had to wait until now for the update.
The MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi 7A in India comes with build number V12.5.1.0.QCMINXM. As always, the release is being done in phases.
The Redmi 7A was released in the second half of 2019 with Android 9.0 Pie based MIIUI 10. The device was updated to MIUI 11 at the end of the same year.
Later, in mid-2020, it received Android 10. At the end of the year, the device received MIUI 12. And more than a year later, MIUI 12.5.
The Redmi A series typically receives one Android update and two MIUI updates. The Redmi 7A has already received all of these, so there may not be a major software update for the phone in the future. MIUI 12.5 EE is no longer expected.
