A Czech android portal has published pictures of what is said to be the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi S2 phone.

The post has since been removed, I don't know why... maybe because the official Mi Store in Prague opened this morning and they were told to take it down? Interesting. The post makes no mention of the origin of the images, but we managed to get everything down so we can show you.

Front-facing camera with LED flash, as seen on the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi 6X. As it's probably intended for the Global market, it will be sold with the MIUI9 Global Stable, as you can see in the picture, with the date and time written in Czech, and of course it will be based on Android 8.1.0 OREO.

As we wrote earlier, the phone has already appeared on TENAA and 3C, so we're talking about a real device. As you can see in the pictures, the dual antenna strip is the same as on the phone seen on the TENAA site, so the authenticity of the pictures is even more assured. The Redmi S2, which looks very similar to the Mi 6X, has the same dual rear camera, albeit not the brutal resolution of the 6X, but the 12+5MP combo of the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The symmetrical design and the Micro USB connector reflect the cheap design, we are really dealing with a cheapened Xiaomi. The internal components are a good indication of this too, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC 2.0GHz, 2/3/4GB of selectable memory, and 16/32/64GB of back. 3010mAh battery, without fast charging. The rear camera will be a pair of 12 and 5 MP, while the front will be a surprising 16MP, for selfie kings. The screen is 5.99″ HD+ with 1440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. 3.5mm Jack headphone jack.
