Xiaomi's hyper-super new top-of-the-range phone, the world's first to be released with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, has been revealed to suffer from software teething problems that, if not fixed quickly, will result in a pile of bugs when the global version is released.

For a new phone with a completely new platform, not to mention the many innovations in MIUI, we wouldn't have been surprised if everything ran smoothly and all functions worked without lag or crash. Unfortunately, there are more bugs than expected over the initial problems.

Gizmochina has compiled these mistakes in a video, most of which are:

  • Mi 11 randomly turns off during use
  • The camera app occasionally crashes while taking photos
  • Some games do not load properly and you see a noisy pixelated screen
  • The Snapdragon 888 heats up quickly and the Mi 11 is unable to take full advantage of the chip's processing power as it throttles back the clock speed to reduce heat
  • Camera performance is average
  • The leather Mi 11 rattles when the speaker is on

So mostly these problems can be solved by a software update, just wait and see. Hopefully by the time the global version is released, these bugs will be fixed, or the already fragmented MIUI Global Stable will add a shovelful... we are eagerly awaiting its release.
