Google is launching a new feature that will allow users to book appointments at healthcare facilities from the search interface.

The search engine company is adding a new solution to its repertoire of features to make it easier to view and book healthcare services near you - from a CNBC. This can be particularly useful if, for example, you want to get to the dentist quickly or to make appointments for other tests and treatments as easily as possible.

In practice, this will look like this: when you search for a particular healthcare institution in the search engine, the Google in addition to the usual search results, it will also throw up a list of available dates, making it a breeze to book the one you want. According to the company, the development could also be useful for people who are unable to see their usual doctor at the time but need a consultation.

The service is still in its infancy and is only available to a very small number of people, but Google plans to make it available to the general public in the future. With the new feature, the company has made no secret of its aim to get users to spend more time in the search engine than they do now, as this kind of solution allows users to schedule a doctor's visit without having to navigate away from Google.
