After Xiaomi announced its latest flagship, the Mi 8-at On 31 May, the Chinese hi-tech giant started to highlight the image quality of the camera. According to the manufacturer, the Mi 8's camera is better than any Xiaomi model to date, even surpassing the recently launched MIX series' latest addition, the Mi MIX 2S. These claims have been backed up by facts, which were tested in the now increasingly popular smartphone test DxOMark was used to test the Mi 8's photographic skills.

Since the Mi 8 has the same camera module as the Mi Mix 2S, it goes without saying that they can use a software algorithm to improve (or rather bring the quality up to the Mi 8's level) the MIX 2S camera.
CEO Lei Jun has recently confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will soon receive a camera firmware update, which will make photos as beautiful (thanks in large part to AI improvements) as the new Xiaomi Mi 8.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S have a dual rear camera with 12 MP resolution. The primary sensor is a wide-angle Sony IMX363 with 12 MP resolution, f/1.8 aperture and 1.4 micron pixel size. The secondary (telephoto) sensor is the S5K3M3, also with 12 MP resolution, but with an aperture of f/2.4.
