There's no sign or rumour of the latest but weakest Redmi phone. What's more, the Redmi 12C is the very first in Redmi's core range, and it's an interesting start to the series.
The first in the series is simple and cheap, as we have come to expect. With a MediaTek processor, small but sufficient memory and back. But interestingly enough, some of its components, such as the camera, are not entry-level as you'd expect, or the battery.
What's worth highlighting is the 50 MP main camera. The cheapest Redmi hasn't really had such a good camera so far, of course it's just one, but maybe in this segment we don't need more. Underneath there's also a 2 MP depth sensor. At its heart is a MediaTek Helio G85, which was previously used in the Redmi 10X and Redmi Note 9. Its screen is huge at 6.71″ but only in HD resolution. The battery is fair though, 5,000 mAh with this kind of iron, it will last 2-3 days of active use. According to the manufacturer, you can get more than 21 days of standby, 20 hours of video or navigation.
