We had to wait 9 years for the Xiaomi Mi Watch. This autumn we got another product that looks deceptively like the Apple Watch, called the Xiaomi Mi Watch. Basically, there is no problem with that, because the shape is sure to be popular around the world. Assuming, of course, that it will finally be available outside Asia.

Our comprehensive article details we've checked out what the smartwatch, no longer made by HUMA, can do, and the specs make it very much worth a thorough test. The feedback is mixed, with very mixed reviews from fans due to the similarities. However, the majority would buy and use it if it supported at least English and some of the apps used by Google, in addition to the Chinese language and apps.

This is when Global Mi Watch comes

However, according to the latest unofficial information, we will have to wait until the first quarter of 2020 for the Global version.

According to According to Aliexpress French online Mi Store The Global version is expected to be released in Q1 2020. In this store, the Chinese version is currently asking $474, or about $144,000. That's an exorbitant price. Also high for the advertised price, and also considering that it's a Xiaomi product (plus the premium version with stainless steel strap, sapphire crystal glass, and ceramic case) is pretty heavily China specific at the moment. In China the same is 1999 yuan, or about 86.500 Ft

Mi Watch

What system can it come with?

During a discussion following the announcement, our editorial team asked - what if the Global version already comes with MIUI?....Will we get a stock Andoid Wear system?

It's also in the cards that they don't bother to localise MIUI European for the watch (as they do with the PatchWall interface for the Mi TV 4 series).

They've already banished several MIUI apps from the Global ruin of Xiaomi phones, the Mi TV 4 has been given a bare Android TV instead, for which the Spanish might get their own PatchWall package in the near future.
So it's not impossible that the Global Mi Watch licensing process will be solved in the same way, not only by replacing apps that we can't use, but also by dropping the MIUI interface itself. We'll see.
In any case, it is more than likely that we will no longer be able to plan with the smartwatch this year. It might only be unveiled at MWC 2020 in Barcelona at the end of February.
As soon as we get more credible, up-to-date news, we will share it with you.
