A staggering amount of data has been leaked from the Twitch video game streaming platform, revealing how much the top content producers are earning.
Recently, serious hacker attack Amazon-owned video game streaming platform Twitch. An anonymous hacker shared a 125 GB torrent file on 4chan which are described as containing data stolen from the site, including Twitch's complete source code from its inception to the present, a variety of other internal code and documents, and payment reports from content creators - reported a The Verge.
The most shocking of the data released was undoubtedly the content producers' payroll report, which revealed how much the most popular streamers on the platform, which has a user base of 9 million, have earned over two years.
Here's the list of the top content producers from October 2019 to August 2021:
CriticalRole - $9.6 million (HUF 2.9 billion)
xQcOW - $8.4 million (HUF 2.6 billion)
summit1g - $5.8 million (HUF 1.8 billion)
Tfue - $5.3 million (HUF 1.65 billion)
NICKMERCS - $5.1 million (HUF 1.59 billion)
ludwig - $3.3 million (HUF 1.03 billion)
TimTheTatman - $3.3 million (HUF 1.03 billion)
Altoar - $3 million (HUF 933 million)
auronplay - $3 million (HUF 933 million)
LIRIK - $2.9 million (HUF 929 million)
So the top 10 content producers have a lot of money to make, but the next ones don't have to worry about money either, according to the leaked information, the 100th highest earning streamer also earned $400,000 a year, which is roughly the equivalent of 128 million forints.
