06.02.2018 - Xiaomi's partner Smartmi today launched three new products (heat pump, evaporator, inverter). For now, you can read a short summary of the products, which will be the subject of a separate detailed presentation article in the future. Just one day before the official launch, a regular advertisement appeared in the press. This time, however, it was not from the usual place, which was already strange for us.
Based on the picture, many of us thought of a 3in1 device, which ended up being 3 separate products. Let's get started:
1. Smartmi electric heater (radiant heater)

As you know, in China, heating with wood/coal/oil is not recommended in certain regions due to high air pollution. To reduce air pollution, electric heaters or central heating is used in modern homes. The changing seasons make winter colder and spring cooler, which is why an electric heater (radiant heater) is a good supplementary heating option. The heater uses a classic design with low heat loss. The cold air flowing through the air duct from below is heated and expelled upwards, spreading the warm air. The air is circulated, thus avoiding the accumulation of hot air around the unit.
There are two heating modes on the radiant heater. One with 1000 W and one with 2000 W. Switching between the stages works without switching off. The 1000 W mode is sufficient to keep the room warm, while the high power 2000 W mode allows for increased heating of the room. The intelligent radiant heater is equipped with an efficient safety system that allows automatic switch-off when the cover temperature reaches 85°C. It is also equipped with an additional deformation sensor shut-off.
Although full specifications are not yet available, leaked information suggests that the heat pump can be connected to the Mi Home system, meaning it can be controlled remotely either via WiFi or Bluetooth (unconfirmed information). The device has an overall thickness of 200 mm and a height of 455 mm, which is considered very compact. Starting price 24.5€, or 10.700 Ft
2. For healthier air - Here is the new Xiaomi SMARTMI humidifier
The second product presented today, which meets the moisture indicator, is a 4 litre humidifier at a price of nearly 20.000 Ft.
The new humidifier uses the principle of evaporation to humidify the environment. It has a capacity of 240 ml/h. You don't have to worry about condensation or algae growth, as the Smartmi humidifier has 36 distillation discs inside, which rotate to keep the water in constant motion. This creates an area of almost 2 square metres, over which water of veil thinness flows and evaporates continuously. In this way, the air is kept at the right humidity level, making it easier for adults and children to breathe and maintaining the health of their respiratory system. The operation is completed by an ultrasonic atomizer, which prevents scale formation. The internal tank has a capacity of 4 litres, which can be filled directly through the top grid. Of course, there are safety sensors to stop the humidification until the water is filled or if the inner part is touched accidentally. The cross-flow fan of the product is driven by a brushless DC motor, which allows a low noise level of 34.3 dB and low power consumption up to 8 W.
For the smartphone, we will get app support (expected to be in the form of Mi Home plugin), which will allow you to monitor the operation of the smart humidifiers, through which you can also analyse the temperature and humidity data collected by the internal humidification sensors. Once the efficiency of the process has been evaluated, the remaining water level can be determined at a glance. Thanks to the new Xiaomi SMARTMI humidifiers, you can enjoy healthier air in your home (especially when using the air purifier in combination).
The third product has not yet been confirmed, so I'm writing about it in a conditional way. This is the
Smartmi 100W DC inverter with QC3.0 support
The car inverter is the second such product from Xiaomi after the MiJia solution. It can safely and stably produce 220V from a 12V battery, giving you 100W of power. This is enough for car coolers, camping heaters, notebook chargers. The built-in USB connector also supports QC3.0 fast charging. Price approx. 10.000 Ft.
What makes the inverter different from the Miji device is that it now has an international universal plug (like the Xiaomi distributor), so you can connect your Hungarian devices without ground directly. Both the cigarette lighter socket and the universal output socket have been tested 10,000 times. In addition to QC3.0, 2.0 5V charging is also supported. Safety electronics detect the device connected to the USB to optimise the charging current required. The inverter has an efficiency of 85% and is equipped with an intelligent temperature sensor. When high temperatures are reached, the built-in fan kicks in (again, different from Mijia, which uses passive cooling) Multiple protection is also given here, i.e. protection against overvoltage, overload, short circuit, overcurrent or overheating (active).
