Today, the latest addition to the Amazfit range of sports watches, the Amazfit Pace 2 Sports Smartwatch, was finally unveiled. The watch is available in China from today for 999 Yuan ~ 40.500 Ft. Yes, yes, it's a bit pricey, but that's just the cheaper end of the spectrum! :)
2 models were presented at the same time, the Amazfit Pace 2 and Amazfit Pace 2s. The first costs 999 Yuan, while the second costs 1490 Yuan. The next generation of timepiece also includes built-in GPS, continuous heart rate tracking, and music tracks from the previous device, and has been enhanced with new features. This time it gets a shocking hardware (1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB storage of which 2 GB can be used), 5 ATM water resistance (higher than IP67), improved heart rate monitoring and a new swim mode.
Waterproof up to 50 metres! No, not 50 metres swimming, but to a depth of 50 metres! What's more, the watch recognises when you're swimming in open water, not in a pool, and keeps a closer eye on your health before you get in trouble, giving you early warning.
The watch can track and record 11 types of sporting events: running, walking, outdoor riding, swimming pool, open water swimming, indoor running, cycling, indoor elliptical, hill climbing, mountain running, triathlon. Few classes can do this at the moment...
In addition to supporting multiple sporting activities, WMI is partnering with Firstbeat, Europe's leading sports research institute, to provide the AMAZFIT Smart Sports Watch 2 with top-quality sports lifestyle data from sports watches. Once the user has completed an exercise, the watch provides rich physiological indexing data such as maximum oxygen uptake (VO2Max), Training Effectiveness (TE), Training Load (TD) and recovery time to exercise. As well as Firstbeat's algorithm, it provides the user with the time required to complete several scientific exercise deductions. It also alerts you to rests during swimming, monitors the Swolf Efficiency Index and identifies the type of swim.
Besides these, the AMAZFIT smart sports watch 2 also has a number of useful features such as Alipay, Mi Home APP which can be connected to household appliances via the smart home controller, or other common functions such as call reminder, push messages, vibrating alarm clock, Bluetooth on music can be easily accessed from the usable 2GB internal storage to meet the user's daily needs and enjoy phone-free sports via BT earpiece.
Low power GPS, lasts up to 5 days
The current widespread use of battery life is not a problem, thanks to the use of Sony's 28 nm low-voltage GPS chip (GPS+Glonass), so performance is good, with battery life in GPS-on mode of around 35 hours, equivalent to around 100 km of track time. With average use, it lasts up to 5 days on a single charge with the 280 mAh Li-Po battery.

Comparing its prowess with similar watches from other manufacturers, the prices are already tempting, with the basic Amazftit Pace 2's 40,000 Ft price tag a gift compared to the Apple Watch series 2 (85,000), Huawei Watch 2 (72,000), Nixon Mission Watch (104,000), Garmin Fenix 5 (132,000), Montblanc Summit (238,500), TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 (496,000). The new Amazfit can be used with your own Amazfit or the MiFit app via Bluetooth 4.0BLE connection. In addition to the watch, the package includes a USB cable, dock for charging and instructions. The watch has several sensors, slowly as many as in a phone, a PPG heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor and of course a vibra motor for silent notifications.
The Amazfit Pace 2 sport smart watch, or just Amazfit Sport Smart Watch 2, but also known as Amazfit Stratos Smart Sport Watch 2, will be available online soon, the cheaper version will be available in 48 hours, but is already available for pre-order in a few places, while the more expensive version will be available only on 9 January 2018. Let's hope its price will drop a bit to make it more widely available, for now the knowledge and price of the watch will only make it a great companion for the bigger sports fans.
