The Solar Orbiter space probe has recorded a solar flare on a massive scale, a historic event.

The Solar Orbiter spacecraft, which will be launched in 2020, will be tasked with taking a variety of measurements on the Sun and taking images of the celestial body at a much higher resolution than before. The video just recorded is a landmark in the history of space exploration, as it is the largest solar flare ever recorded, including the entire solar disk. from a Space.

The extraordinary event was captured by the probe's Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI). The solar flare was recorded on 15 February.

Although the newly recorded solar flare has missed Earth, if such events are directed directly towards Earth, it could cause problems here too. One of the most serious such events was the Carrington event in 1859, when a solar flare caused a geomagnetic storm so powerful that it silenced telegraph lines between Europe and the United States.
