Today at 2 pm local time (7 am Hungarian time) the new Xiaomi Redmi family a presentation of. The two main attractions were the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.
When it comes to design and looks, the Redmi 5 and Plus follow the Redmi range's signature features. Small differences, well not so small, as the screen size has increased quite a bit, with a small margin for a full screen.

Frontal selfie-vacuum
Apart from the full screen, another minor change from before is the front flash for better selfies.
At the back, the usual camera-blind-fingerprint reader trio is visible. At the bottom, a MicroUSB connector between symmetrically cut holes, which houses the mono speaker and microphone.
Processors
The soul of the Redmi 5 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC using 14nm technology. 8-core ARM Cortex A53, 1.8 GHz clock speed per core, with FHD+ resolution support.
The heart of the Redmi 5 Plus is made using only 14nm technology Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC beats the drum. The 625 also has 8-core ARM Cortex A53 (Kryo 280) cores, only clocked at 2.0 GHz. With FHD+ support, of course.
Batteries
The Redmi 5 has a 3300 mAh battery, which the manufacturer claims gives you 12 days of standby time (GSM mode only). Of course, this is never achievable, because who would use such a cool phone for GSM calls only? :D We'll see what we can get out of it in time. 1-2 days of use guaranteed!
The Redmi 5 Plus has a slightly bigger battery than its brother, with 4000 mAh that lasts up to 17 days, provided you're only making calls. But who won't use 6 inches for gaming, watching videos, reading????
They will be resilient
The new Redmi range will be more resistant to physical impact than its competitors, which is why the phones have such a large frame. In our experience over the years, most screen breakages have been caused by landing on the corner of the phone on concrete. That's why Xiaomi has designed the corners of the phone so that the phone's frame, like a support structure, absorbs the impact and guides it to the back. This protects our screen or minimizes the damage to our screen.
But if that's not enough protection, put the TPU case that comes with your phone on your phone and you won't have to worry about it getting damaged. Unless it falls from the fourth one... it's not protected.
