Apple had originally planned to introduce the iPhone driver's licence in 2021, but the BBC recently reported that the digital document will not reach users until 2022.
The apple company in September reported more details that in some US states, various documents used for identification (ID cards, driver's licenses) will also be able to be saved to the Wallet app on iPhones, allowing users to say goodbye to physical wallets. All they need to do is scan the documents and take a selfie for identification.
The BBC Source from according to will arrive a little later than promised, in 2022, but it is not known exactly when. The digital documents will be available in eight states (Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma and Utah) in the first round, and are planned to be introduced at airport security checkpoints first.
