At the 2023 Xiaomi IoT Ecology Partner Conference this morning, Jin Hailong, President of Guangzhou Panasonic Air Conditioner Co., Ltd. gave a presentation and talked about the ecological cooperation between Panasonic and Xiaomi IoT. Panasonic is finally getting into the Xiaomi ecosystem and together they are developing the climate of the future.
Jin Hailong said that Panasonic and Xiaomi will reach cooperation on lighting in 2021 and air conditioning in June 2023. However, Panasonic and Xiaomi have been negotiating climate cooperation since 2018, but it was only concluded this year, which took 5 years.
In August this year, the first Xiaomi air conditioner made by Panasonic was unveiled, and in September this year, the first Xiaomi refrigerator made by Panasonic was unveiled. In the future, the two parties will collaborate in several home appliances categories.
In June, Xiaomi Group's main air conditioning division announced a strategic cooperation agreement with Panasonic Air Conditioner. The two parties will share resources in the R&D and manufacturing of air conditioning products, and have established a multi-level, cross-cutting strategic partnership.
In a recent interview in Shanghai, Panasonic Holdings chairman Kusumi Yuki said, "If you escape (fierce competition) from the Chinese market, it means you are withdrawing from the world," indicating that China is the most important region for continued investment.
