What's more, it's set to go on sale in India, where the vast majority of Redmi phones get a spotlight. So far, only one Mi series has hit the official Indian web store, the Mi Mix 2.

The discovery was not made by us, but by an XDA user, @FunkyHuawei who once again extracted details from the latest firmware files that the average user never will. The most interesting details were among the devices containing the SD845 processor, codenamed "Polaris" for Mi Mix 2, "Dipper" for Mi 8, "Ursa" for Mi 8 Explorer Edition, "Shark" for BlackShark and "Beryllium" which is yet to come out.

What could be unravelled from the code about this mysterious new device? It will definitely have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, LCD display (no notch), dual rear camera with optical zoom, 4,000 mAh battery and Android 8.1 (probably MIUI 10). No information about memory and storage, but it will not be expandable with SD card, so it will be a member of the Mi series. It will also have a fingerprint reader, but not under the screen.

The global launch is expected in India, as the closed beta MIUI 10 global version is available and Global phones are mostly launched there. The story doesn't stop there, as there are two varieties in the codes, namely "Beryllium" and "Beryllium Global". The plain one is for the eastern regions and the Global one for international waters. Let's hope the magic B20 will not be left out now! The Indian look is further enhanced by the fact that features such as "India beauty Filter" are only available there and are absolutely country specific.

The "Beryllium" will not be the Mi Mix 3. No substantial rumors about it have been published on the net yet, but some sources speculate that in the above firmware file, the Indian function in the camera codes is called "IS_E10", which according to the latest rumors is found in the new branch, POCOPHONE model number M1805E10A.

In the previous article we didn't know yet what RAM/ROM ratio the POCOPHONE would come with and we were wrong to think it would be a mid-range phone. The FCC's spec sheet has been expanded and it turns out that 6/64GB and 6/128GB are certainly not mid-range. This will be a top-end flagship phone and may indeed be the Beryllium.
