If anyone has a rational explanation for why manufacturers measure the performance of a secret device, don't keep it to yourself...

So! A mystery phone called "Xiaomi StRaKz" has popped up again on Geekbench, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and running Android 8.1.0. Similar builds include the Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 4 Prime, Mi Max 2, Mi A1 and Mi 5X. So this could be another low budget phone this year, perhaps the latest in the new 'S' series?

The measured results are quite poor, compared to the better results of previous phones with the same iron, which can be attributed to the system's error, as it also writes the base frequency of the processor as 0.

So that's the rumour part, now for the reality. It's none other than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Stock Android 8.1.0 kernel test by developer Revanth Strakz. His work XDA forum and Githubon there's nothing special about it.

Sorry for the clickbait title and content, but at least now you know that the shocking new Xiaomi phone articles posted on other sites don't cover the reality...
