It's been a while since MIUI 12.5 was announced, but so far, at least in our part of the world, we haven't seen much of it. That will soon change.

But that's not what we're going to talk about now, we'll have to wait a little longer before the update arrives here. In China, things are looking up, with another 2019 phone joining the 12.5 camp.

The update, v12.5.1.0.RFBCNXM, brings Android 11, a new interface, and a March security pack for Chinese owners.

This probably means that owners of the global version will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of MIUI 12.5 and Android 11, along with the protection provided by the recent security patch.

The Mi 9 SE was released with Android 9 and MIUI 10 back in the day, so this update could be the last one you get.
