When Xiaomi's top phone, the Mi6, was released, everyone hoped that its bigger brother, the Mi6 Plus, would be released soon. According to industry analyst Pan Jiutang, the Mi6 Plus release has been delayed due to the huge market response generated by the Galaxy S8 and the impact on the availability of the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Contrary to rumours of postponement, there may be a glimmer of hope. A leaked Xiaomi Mi6 plus protective case shows us what the big brother might look like. The Mi6 Plus is expected to come with a larger display than the Mi6's 5.15″ display. The Mi6 Plus is expected to come with the same display as the Mi5s Plus, with a 5.7-inch diameter. The case clearly shows a slight change in the camera and flash layout compared to the regular Mi6. While the flash is located to the left of the two rear cameras in the Mi6, the Mi6 Plus will have it on the right.

The case also reveals that the Plus version won't have a 3.5mm Jack connector like its smaller counterpart. Since it comes with a larger display, we can assume that it will also come with a larger battery, which might be 4500 mAh. If previous rumours are to be believed, the Snapdragon 835 will be humming inside with 6/8 GB of ram and 128GB of internal storage. The cameras are likely to be the same Sony 12MP IMX362 type at the back and 8MP at the front and the package will also include space for an 18 watt fast charger. It's not known in advance when Xiaomi will launch another large-screen phone after the highly successful Mi Max 2.
